We were pleased to welcome Peter Stammers from Bookham and Horsley Rotary to speak to us about how World War 2 ended across Europe. It was interesting to hear about the problems the allied armies faced with the millions of homeless refuges across Europe both during the fighting and after hostilities ended. Peter described the characters of the Generals leading the allied and enemy troops and how each had their own agenda as to where they wanted to go and what they wanted to achieve.
